About Me.
Hi Im Nyx,
I am a first generation gamer. I picked up my first joystick in 1979 and have not put it down yet. I was there through the golden age of the arcades in the UK, into the home computing period where me and my trusty ZX Spectrum, Atari 800xl then Atari ST (oh I miss you) taught me a bit of BASIC and a lot of appreciation on how amazing programmers could be as arcade ports were crammed into 48k (Gauntlet, Outrun, Enduro…) and entire universes fit inside 32k (oh Elite…)
My first job was in an independent computer store that exclusively sold Atari products. All day I would sell Atari hardware, talk about software and homebrew. It was a fabulous time all over too early, sadly when I was 16 years old I was tempted by a guy who threw a ton of money at me to go work for him. Idiotically, I did and it was a massive mistake.
But I'm still here, still gaming and now, back using computers for stuff rather than games. I'm not sure why, probably down to the neurodivergent brain I have but I cant see me changing at all.
