The shape of the universe

In a 3 torus universe, if you create a line and look over your shoulder, you should see it behind you.

Basho wrote about a frog, an instance small and close. I wrote about the universe, the other end of the scale. I am not even close to the genius that is Basho-san, but I wanted to create something in the simplest of forms that tie together the geometry and topology of the universe.

The shape of my universe

There are so many suggestions, so many ideas and so many theories of the actual shape the universe might be. I cannot believe in infinity, because if the universe is indeed infinite then there has to be an infinite number of possibilities and with an infinite number of possibilities you are presented with every single possibility being played out, in other words, fate. and I cannot accept that my life, as meaningless and worthless as it is, is written in stone.

It's like having an argument with a psychotherapist. You say something, she counters with "I knew you would say that..." So you think of a different approach, trying hard to get your point across, and she counters with, "Yes, I knew you would say that, and this is why..." and proceeds to give you all the next five or six counters before you say a word.
So the only recourse you have is to chuck the TV out of the window, look her in the eye and say "There! You had no idea I'd do that!" And she will gape at you speechless for a full minute before quietly getting her coat and leaving.

In an infinite universe she is already downstairs under the window with a net to catch the TV, In my 3 torus, she has jumped in her Vauxhall Astra and driven away.

Infinity, like a flat plane, is bunk.

What would the flatlanders say?
